My Favorite Iced Matcha

Matcha is one of my top afternoon pick me up or pre workout drinks because it’s so helpful for giving us that energy lift we need without being overly stimulating or hormone disruptive. Matcha has so many wonderful health benefits due to its high antioxidant content and it’s one of those things that just instantly make me feel so much more energized and ready to take on the day or a workout.

My favourite way to enjoy Matcha is on ice with a little bit of unsweetened vanilla coconut milk (any other non dairy milk would work just fine). I don’t usually add any sweetener but that is always an option if you prefer things on the sweeter side, maple syrup or raw honey would be my top picks for this.

I also like to use my Nespresso milk frother or a hand held frother to make sure that the Matcha is well whisked into the water. If you don’t have a milk frother of any kind you can also use a blender or magic bullet.

Ingredients:

  • 1 tsp organic ceremonial grade Matcha (I use Do Matcha)

  • 3/4 cup filtered water

  • splash of vanilla non dairy milk (I use Silk unsweetened vanilla coconut milk)

  • Ice

  • *optional 1 tsp maple syrup or raw honey

Directions:

Add the water and Matcha powder in to the frother and froth on cold until well combined (alternatively you can add the Matcha and water into a cup and froth with the hand held frother or into a blender). Transfer into a cup, add in a few ice cubes and top it off with a splash of dairy free milk. Enjoy!
